Transit Director
 
Bay Aging
Dynamic, self directed leader to oversee the management, administration, operation and supervision of the Bay Transit transportation system and 75 full and part time staff. Ensures that program objectives and contracts are in compliance with established guidelines as well as state and federal rules and regulations.  
 
Requirements: The successful candidate will have: Experience directing and managing a transportation program to include all aspects of operations and budget development, financial management, grant writing and report writing. Possess a proven track record of creative leadership, strategic vision and successful program implementation. Demonstrate clear capabilities in directing and supervising special projects for public and contract transit. Have knowledge of human service transportation issues; as well as procurement and maintenance of vehicles. Additionally, a working knowledge of the governmental process and its relationship to nonprofit organizations as well as human resource practices for a large public transportation division is preferred. Other key abilities include: Training, developing and managing a large staff that covers a large, rural/ suburban area (3,000 sq mi) and excellent interpersonal skills including written, verbal and listening. Must be organized, detailed and task oriented. Computer applications skills including MSWord, Excel and Access programs are critical, as well as working knowledge of transportation safety and health rules and regulations. Knowledge of local geography is a plus.

A minimum of a bachelor’s degree and related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Advanced coursework or degree in a relevant field (MBA, MPA or MPUD) is preferred.
Position: Full Time
Salary: $60,000+
