Senior University: An Educational Seminar for Seniors and Caregivers

Rappahannock General Hospital in Kilmarnock, Virginia is hosting Senior University, a care giving institute designed to educate family and caregivers on Tuesday, August 10, 2010 from 3:00 - 7:00 p.m.

The event is free, includes dinner and will consist of guest speakers, breakout sessions, panel discussions and question and answer sessions aimed to educate seniors and those who care for them.

There will be scheduled time during the event for attendees to meet with local organizations providing information or services that may be beneficial to themselves or a loved one.

“Caring for seniors requires much coordination between the patients, doctors, and their caregivers,” says keynote speaker of Senior University, Dr. Steven Glessner, “Senior University will be a wonderful opportunity for seniors and their caregivers to educate themselves on important topics and gain access to all of the valuable resources that are available in our community.”

Six Boxer mix puppies are seeking a lifetime home. Melissa Ann (pictured) is a 9 weeks old female Boxer. She has one sister and four brothers. They were all born on May 20 (estimated). They are all fawn-colored; some have four white feet and white-tipped tails while several have only two or three white feet or no white tips on their tails. They are all a delight to behold! They are being successfully house-trained but a fenced yard is a must for these happy doggies.

If interested in giving Melissa Ann or one of her siblings a new home, please contact Janine Thompson of Precious Purrs and Paws, Inc. in Gloucester at (804) 693-0283.
