Impact 100 Richmond Grant A financial investment is made through at least one $100,000 grant to a nonprofit in one of the following Focus Areas: Arts & Culture, Education, Environment, Family, and Health & Wellness. Preference will be given to programs and projects that positively affect womenand children. The grant recipient will be selected by a vote of the Impact 100 Richmond membership, after a detailed grant proposal reviewprocess. Impact 100 Richmond seeks to fund projects that: Foster change and have a long-term positive impact Are programmatic and/or capital in nature Are new programs or expansions/improvements of existing programs that can change the way an organization or a community operates Can demonstrate specific measurable goals Deadline: February 15, 2011 NCBS Community Education & Civic Enagagment GrantsThe National Council for Black Studies' grant opportunities are for enriching African American studies. The grant will only be awarded to faculty teaching a related course, and a grant proposal must be submitted. Deadline: Open Meacham Foundation Memorial GrantThe Meacham Foundation Memorial Grant provides financial assistance to agencies for shelter expansion or improvements. Grant money must be used to increase and/or improve the quality of care given to animals. Grants may be awarded in any amount up to $4,000. Funded projects may include: animal environment enrichment, equipment for veterinary care, equipment for spay/neuter, kennel or cattery renovation, capital campaigns, and equipment that positively impacts the welfare of animals in the shelter.
